 BUDGET PROVISION FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

            The management has rightly recognized the importance of research in offering quality education to students. Creation of new knowledge is one of the emerging challenges of higher education. Hence, the management has provided financial support to the following categories in order to support research, which ensures acquirement of new knowledge and skill. The extent of financial assistance given to staff for the following activities (during 2000-2005) are as follows:

In addition, the facility to attend Refresher course / Orientation course has been extended to even self-financed Management staff. They are also given OD for the respective period.                        

PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS IN RESEARCH THROUGH ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

The curriculum has been so designed at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to promote research attitude among students.

            A core paper on ‘Basic Methodology’ at under graduate level and a core paper on ‘Research Methodology’ at post graduate level have been introduced to impart the knowledge about the new tools, techniques and procedures, which facilitate the students to experiment their new ideas and give them an opportunity to demonstrate their innovations.

            The curriculum requires the students of under graduate courses to submit individual / group projects in their respective subject at the end of the final semester of their course. Similarly, the postgraduate students have to submit individual projects at the end of the final semester of their course. The entire final semester has been devoted for the project work for those who study post graduate course in M.Sc. Wild Life Biology, Master of Computer Applications, M.Sc. Computer Science and M.Sc. Electronic Science.
